Dog Registration - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this registration if you own a dog in the ACT. Registration is compulsory for dogs if:

  • they are over eight weeks old
  • they have been kept in the ACT for twenty-eight days or more
  • you have been a resident of the ACT for twenty-eight days or more.

To register a dog you must:

  • have the dog microchipped and desexed
  • be permitted to own a dog
  • be over the age of 16 (unless parental approval is provided to the agency).
