Approved Training Programs - Gambling Services - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to provide a training program for gambling contact officers or gambling staff and their supervisors regarding the responsible provision of gambling services. Gambling contact officers are staff who:

  • provide information regarding where counselling for problem gambling may be obtained
  • can be made aware of any complaints regarding problem gambling
  • report to the licensee about any complaints made regarding problem gambling
  • must ensure no personal information is inappropriately disclosed regarding someone's problem gambling.

Gambling services are strictly regulated and a proposed training course must be approved by the Agency to ensure the content is relevant, comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date. This approval may be granted to a licensee for an internal training program or to an outside training institution, please see the attached form for more information regarding the types of programs you may apply to have approved.
