You will require this approval if you intend to discharge non-domestic / trade waste into the sewer. This approval is required for all non-domestic premises regardless of its contents.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this approval you must:

  • Declare any process that may lead to a discharge of waste to sewer;
  • State the nature and quantity of the waste and the proposed pre-treatment, waste monitoring or waste management procedures you will follow;
  • Certify that the intended discharge after pre-treatment will conform to the requirements of the acceptance criteria.

If there is no risk of trade waste discharge to sewer, then this should be indicated on the application form.
