Licence for Owner / Trainer / Attendant (Greyhound Racing) - Australian Capital Territory

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to become an attendant, owner or trainer of greyhounds in the Australian Capital Territory.

The following variations of licence are available:

Train a Greyhound: you will require this licence if you intend to train greyhounds for racing.

Train and own a Greyhound: this licence type allows you to train and race greyhounds which you either own outright or part own. If you are a member of a syndicate or partnership you can train and race greyhounds owned by that particular group. If you are a current attendant and 18 years or older you may apply for an owner / trainer licence at any time.

Greyhound Attendant: this licence type allows you to handle, box, catch and generally assist a trainer at a track on race days. The minimum age for an attendant licence is 15 years of age. However, at 15 years of age you can only work for a licensed family member and you must forward a written reference from your parent/s or guardian supporting your application.
