Display Operator Licence - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to test, use or operate fireworks for indoor or outdoor displays. As the display operator, you are responsible for:

  • the handling of the fireworks
  • the display site
  • any associated plant or system
  • any associated activity.

If you hold a current and valid interstate pyrotechnician licence, you can apply to obtain an ACT display operator licence under mutual recognition.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • provide documentation of the safety management system for the use of fireworks
  • have attended an approved training course on the use of fireworks for fireworks displays
  • have the required knowledge, competency and training level
  • demonstrate suitable practical experience in the use of fireworks.
