Registration of a Bookmaker (Greyhound Racing) - Australian Capital Territory

Service summary

You will require this registration if you are an individual or proprietary company and intend to operate as a bookmaker at greyhound race meetings in the Australian Capital Territory. A bookmaker provides wagering services to the general public at race courses. They take bets or wagers on behalf of racing punters and issue winnings.

If you intend to register a proprietary company, the Agency will need to be satisfied you're your company is an eligible company.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • Submit the application in the approved form;
  • Pay the required fees;
  • Pay the cash deposit or bond determined by the Agency;
  • Supply evidence of character, fitness and experience;
  • If applying as a company, supply requested evidence so the Agency can determine if you are an eligible company; and
  • If applying as an individual, be 18 years old or older.
