You will be required to apply for this licence if you intend to operate a private centre offering opioid detoxification services to patients using opioid antagonists. Opioid detoxification centres provide rapid detoxification, which is the process of accelerating withdrawal from heroin (or other opioids) by the administration of an opioid antagonist.
This licence is required for the provision of both:
- Methadone; and

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence you must be an individual or a private organisation. You are also required to submit a completed and signed application form providing:
- Details about your intended opioid detoxification clinic;
- Details about the premises that you intend to operate your clinic from; and
- A detailed sketch plan showing the layout of all fixtures, fittings, appliances and any other equipment to be installed on the premises
