Studs and Sire Registration (Harness Racing) - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will require this registration if you intend to:

  • use a place as a stud
  • use a stallion as a sire.

A stud is an establishment where horses are kept for breeding. A sire is a male horse used for breeding.

Please be aware that that you must comply with the rules of harness racing and your registration may be subject to conditions.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration:

  • your application is to be made within the time, in the manner and form, and be accompanied by such documentation, information and fees as determined by the Agency
  • you and / or the studmaster must be older than 18 years
  • unless the material is already on file with the Agency, you must provide certified extracts of your birth
  • you must provide a certificate from a veterinary surgeon approved by the Agency that supports the registration of a place as a stud and / or supports the registration of a stallion as a sire.
