All Stablehands that assist trainers of harness racing horses must be registered. A registered stablehand is permitted to do the following activities:
- Carry out track work on registered tracks;
- Drive at any meeting to prepare a horse to race at that meeting (other than during the horse's immediate pre-race preliminary);
- Assist with the training, management, care and control of horses; and
- Assist with the pre-race and post-race procedures affecting the horse.

- Provide a passport sized photo and medical report;
- Submit the application form; and
- Pay the relevant application fees.
