The Treaty between the Government of Australia and the Government of the United States of America concerning Defence Trade Cooperation creates a framework for two-way trade between 'trusted communities' in Australia and the United States without the need for an export licence. Controlled goods that Community Members can export under the Treaty include but are not limited to:
- ammunition
- firearms
- propellants and constituent chemicals for propellants
- military ground vehicles
- production equipment for rockets and missiles.
The transfer of articles under the Treaty must support an approved activity or end-use.
