Permit to Establish or Decommission a Facility - Australian Government

Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to establish a facility to carry out work associated with nuclear activities. Facilities that require this permit include:

  • A nuclear facility;
  • A facility for the carrying out of nuclear activities; and
  • A facility for the use of associated equipment.

A permit may also be granted for work to be carried out to decommission the whole or a part of a facility. Separate permits will be needed if you intend to transport or possess nuclear material or associated items. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
