You will require this certificate if you are a seafarer on board a regulated Australian vessel.
A regulated Australian vessel is:
- Registered or, required to be registered;
- Not a recreational vessel;
- Proceeding on an overseas voyage; or
- An opt-in declaration is in force for the vessel.

- At least 16 years of age; and
- Medically fit and have satisfactorily completed an approved training course;
