You will need to register if you pass the facility or corporate group thresholds. Corporations emitting large volumes of emissions are required to collect and collate greenhouse gas emissions and energy data, and to report that data on a regular basis. If your corporate group satisfy at least one of the following thresholds then you may be required to report:
- emission of 50 kilotonnes or more of carbon dioxide equivalents
- 200 terajoules of total energy produced
- 200 terajoules of total energy consumed.
Or if a single facility satisfy at least one of the following thresholds then you may be required to report:
- emission of 25 kilotonnes or more of carbon dioxide equivalents
- 100 terajoules of total energy produced
- 100 terajoules of total energy consumed.
Exemptions may apply in circumstances such as non-energy greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and land use. You may also be able to voluntarily register even if you do not meet the above thresholds.
