From June 2016, you will require this authorisation if you intend to operate as a biosecurity officer or biosecurity enforcement officer. Biosecurity officers and enforcement officers carry out various functions under biosecurity laws. This may be at:
- A landing place in Australian territory where an aircraft that is subject to biosecurity control has landed or intends to land;
- A port in Australian territory where a vessel that is subject to biosecurity control has been moored or intends to be moored;
- Premises that may be entered with the consent of the occupier or under a warrant; or
- On premises that are deemed a biosecurity zone or operating as an approved arrangement.
