Nominated Carrier Declaration - Australian Government

Service summary

You will require this declaration if you are the owner of one or more network units intending to nominate a licensed telecommunications carrier to supply carriage services over those units to the public, such as telephony or internet.

A network unit includes a length of telecommunications cable or a radiocommunications base station that meets certain legislative requirements.

Nomination occurs in circumstances where the owner of the network unit does not wish to hold a carrier licence and an exemption does not apply.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this declaration you must:

  • Provide the consent of the owner or each of the owners of the network units;

  • Detail the network units subject to the application; and
  • Hold all relevant licences.
