To be eligible for this certificate you must:
- be at least 17 years of age
- have completed the required examinations
- meet the competency standards specified in the Manual of Standards for the operation of an aeronautical radio
- provide a current aviation English language proficiency assessment.
You can also apply to have your radio operator licence or certificate issued by the competent authority in any country or by the Australian Defence Force converted.
If you hold an overseas radio operator licence that is equivalent to this certificate then you are also eligible to be granted this certificate.
