Customs Depot Licence - Australian Government

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to hold imported goods subject to Customs control and / or unpack these goods from receptacles, such as containers. This licence is also required for the holding and / or packing into receptacles of goods that are intended for export and are subject to Customs control. Please note that goods can only be held for a limited time.

Eligibility requirements

You must satisfy the requirements of current legislation including:

  • The personal character of the applicants and employees;
  • The location, security and accessibility of the proposed site of the depot; and
  • The reporting, record-keeping and management of the operation.

Licences are valid from the date of issue until 30 June each year.
