Radiocommunications (Analogue Speech (Angle Modulated) Equipment) Standard 2014 - Australian Government

Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to manufacture, supply, test, sell or modify an analogue speech (angle modulated) radiocommunications device that:

  • is a nominated station
  • operates on a land mobile frequency between 450 MHz to 479MHz if based on a ship or 29.7 MHz to 520MHz in any other case
  • operates on a channel with a bandwidth of 12.5 kHz, 20 kHz or 25 kHz
  • is used to provide a land mobile radio service.

The purpose of this standard is to ensure radiocommunications equipment achieves a satisfactory level of performance prior to use. The technical requirements of this standard are drawn from AS / NZS 4295:2004 Analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment operating in land mobile and fixed services bands in the frequency range 29.7 MHz to 1 GHz.

Please note that if you are importing a radiocommunication device for the sole purpose of use at a significant event, it may be exempt from this standard.
