You may require this code if you intend to apply for a refrigerant air-conditioning (RAC) industry permit.

A RAC industry permit means any of the following:

  • refrigerant handling licence
  • refrigerant trading authorisation
  • equipment manufacturing authorisation
  • halon special permit
  • restricted refrigerant trading authorisation.

To be eligible for a permit you must demonstrate your knowledge of any standard relevant to work to be carried out under your permit. You must carry out any work under a permit in accordance with the relevant standard. This standard sets out a method for evaluating the thermodynamic performance of air-conditioning systems on agricultural tractors and self-propelled machines.
