Service summary

You will be required to comply with these guidelines if you operate an Australian vessel with a gross tonnage of 400 or more, or an oil tanker with a gross tonnage of 150 to 400 tonnes.

Your ship must be fitted with oil filtering equipment to ensure that any oily mixture discharged into the sea has an oil content not exceeding 15 parts per million. The design of the oil filtering equipment must be approved by the Agency. In considering whether to approve the design of the equipment, the Agency will take into account the requirements of these specifications.
