You may require this code if you intend to apply for a refrigerant air-conditioning (RAC) industry permit.
A RAC industry permit means any of the following:
- refrigerant handling licence
- refrigerant trading authorisation
- RAC equipment manufacturing authorisation
- halon special permit
- restricted refrigerant trading authorisation.
To be eligible for a permit you must demonstrate your knowledge of any standard relevant to work to be carried out under your permit. You must carry out any work under a permit in accordance with the relevant standard.
The standard specifies minimum requirements for the materials, design, fabrication, testing, inspection, reports and pre-commissioning of piping subject to internal or external pressure.
