You may be required to comply with this standard if you are a building certifier, developer or manager and intend to construct a new building or a new part of an existing building. The purpose of this standard is to ensure that people with disabilities are able to gain access to buildings. The standard includes requirements for:
- adequate signage
- access to the building
- dedicated car parks
- lift capacity.
Please be aware that sole-occupant dwellings and some classes of buildings may be exempt from this standard.
