Description

You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to operate an offshore petroleum facility. An offshore petroleum facility is a vessel or structure located at a site in Australian Government waters that is used for:

  • the recovery, processing, storage and offloading of petroleum
  • drilling or servicing a well for petroleum
  • laying pipes for petroleum
  • other purposes related to offshore petroleum operations.

You must not allow your employees to be exposed to an airborne concentration of a hazardous substance that exceeds the appropriate exposure standard for the relevant period of time.

Appropriate exposure standards for different hazardous substances are set out in this standard.
