You must comply with these guidelines if you intend to install a ship earth station and you are the operator of a regulated Australian vessel or a foreign vessel that is one of the following:

  • in an Australian port
  • entering or leaving an Australian port
  • in the internal waters of Australia
  • in the territorial sea of Australia, other than in the course of innocent passage.

These guidelines set out the specifications for the installation of a ships earth station and operation of maritime mobile and satellite services.
