Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to carry out certain activities at an area infested with an emergency animal pest.

An emergency animal pest is any animal that is not indigenous to a particular area and the spread of such an animal may spread associated diseases and infestation. An area that is suspected of having emergency animal pests is known as an infested place.

You will require a permit if you intend to:

  • Enter, move within, or leave any premises, place or area declared to be an infested place (or cause or permit someone else to);
  • Bring, move or take (or allow someone else) any animal, product, fodder, fitting, soil or other thing to which the relevant declaration applies; and / or
  • Carry out any activity that is the subject of a control order.

Please be aware that there are exemptions to this permit, including the possession of emergency pest animals for veterinary, medical or scientific research.
