You will need this approval to display items on or near a public road. This includes having any article, item, product or sign (whether for sale or otherwise) either:

  • on a public road
  • near a public road
  • outside a shop window or doorway abutting a public road
  • beneath an awning over a public road.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this approval you must:

  • provide the Council with details of the proposed placement or display, including its location and duration
  • have received consent from the owner of the land on which you intend to place or display the items, including from the relevant Minister if the land is Crown land
  • have obtained public liability insurance to the value of at least $10 million.
