Poppy Permit - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to coordinate the transport of alkaloid poppies or poppy material within New South Wales. This permit does not authorise you to grow or process alkaloid poppies, or replace the authorisation required to drive a vehicle for the purposes of transporting goods. Each of these activities requires a separate authorisation.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be at least eighteen years of age, or a member of a company of which the directors are all at least eighteen years of age
  • ensure that the location, facilities and security arrangements of the premises to be used for the purposes of your licence are suitable for those purposes
  • not have been convicted of a serious offence in the previous ten years
  • be financially solvent
  • be considered a fit and proper person to hold the licence.

Transferability

This permit cannot be transferred.
