Fireworks (Single Use) Licence - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to purchase, possess, use, store or transport display fireworks for a single occasion / event only. This licence will only be issued for:

  • ground displays
  • Chinese strings
  • theatrical / indoor displays.

You are not permitted to use any aerial shell type fireworks under this licence.

Please be aware that this licence cannot be issued to a person more than four occasions in any 12 month period.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • have the necessary qualifications, training and experience
  • be considered a fit a proper person for the purpose of the licence
  • submit the application from accompanied by all required documentation
  • pay any required fees.

A single event may consist of:

  • a one day event
  • an event up to three consecutive days
  • an extended display.
This includes a community event open to the public organised by a community or private organisation, such as a show, fete, carnival, cultural, religious or sporting event.
