Licence to Carry Out High Risk Work - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to carry out high risk work. There are different classes of high risk work. Types of high risk work include:

  • scaffolding work
  • dogging and rigging work
  • crane and hoist operation
  • reach stackers
  • forklift operation
  • pressure equipment operation.

You may apply for a licence to carry out one or more classes of high risk work.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be 18 or older
  • hold the relevant qualification for the class of high risk work you intend to undertake
  • provide evidence of your identity, a copy of your certification to undertake high risk work and any other information or documentation required by the Agency
  • be able to use English at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work.

Approval time

If the Regulator does not make a decision within 120 days of receiving an application for a licence or on receiving additional information, then it is taken that the application is not granted.
