Prohibited Weapons - Dealer Permit - New South Wales

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to carry on a business as a Prohibited Weapons Dealer. This permit authorises you to possess, buy, sell, manufacture, test or repair prohibited weapons specified in your permit. You may only operate at the premises specified in the permit, or at other approved premises. Please refer to the Schedule 1 Prohibited Weapons document for a full list of prohibited weapons in NSW.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • demonstrate that you propose to or are carrying on a genuine commercial enterprise
  • ensure your premises is suitable for carrying the business of a weapons dealer
  • ensure your premises is compliant with any local consent(s) or approval(s)
  • have and maintain a public liability insurance policy of not less than $10 million.

Duration

The permit will be issued for a maximum term of 5 years.
