Racecourse Licence - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to hold race meetings at a racecourse. You may apply for one or more of the following classes of licence:

  • horse racing
  • harness racing
  • greyhound racing.

Please be aware that a trial meeting may be held at an unlicensed racecourse so long as the meeting is held with the approval of the controlling body that is responsible for the type of racing concerned.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • pay the required fee
  • provide the required information in the approved form.

Race meetings held under this licence must be conducted by a non-proprietary association, such as a club, corporation or organisation formed for the purposes of promoting or conducting racing meetings.

Licence will remain in force until cancelled.
