Transported Stock Statement (TSS) - New South Wales

Description

You may need to hold a transported stock statement (TSS) if you transport stock. This applies whether the stock is transported by road, rail, water or air transport.

You must ensure that the person in charge of the transportation process is in possession of the TSS, and that the stock matches the description in the statement. A completed copy of the TSS must be retained for at least 2 years after you have transported the stock.

The TSS must be in the form of a consignment note or document that has been approved. If you are a stock transporter, you can apply for approval of a consignment note as a TSS.

Please note that:

  • specific requirements may vary according to the type of stock
  • animal health statements for cattle, sheep and goats are not mandatory in NSW, however they may be required for some stock movements especially interstate or through particular sale yards.

Please be aware that if you hold a National Vendor Declaration (NVD) you do not need a TSS for stock movements.
