Consent to Use Pesticides for the Management of Birds - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this consent if you are an individual or organisation who intends to use prescribed substances to harm any bird in NSW:

  • Whether or not protected fauna;
  • Whether or not native to, or of a species that periodically or occasionally migrates to Australia.

Prescribed substances are any glue, gel and other adhesive or viscid substance and other substances listed in the poisons list (See attached document).

Please be aware that if you intend to use certain substances to harm protected fauna other than birds, you can apply for an Occupiers Licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this consent, you must:

  • Be qualified to use pesticides;
  • Demonstrate your knowledge of the product that you propose to use to control pest birds;
  • Pay any required fees; and
  • Submit any required forms.
