National Police Certificate - New South Wales

Description

You may require this certificate if you intend to apply for a job requiring a police check. Please note that there are different kinds of checks for different occupations and activities.

A National Police Certificate lists an individual's criminal background (if any). Residents of New South Wales aged 14 and above can apply for this National Police Certificate when seeking paid employment (including authorisation as an authorised carer), for some occupational licensing purposes, or if they intend to volunteer in Commonwealth supported aged-care facilities.

Please be aware that in some cases, if you intend to work with children in New South Wales, a Working with Children Check will be required instead of this certificate.

Organisations which intend to conduct 50 or more National Police Checks per year may apply to become Registered Organisations, allowing them to deal directly with the New South Wales Police Criminal Records Section.
