Community Use of School Facilities - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this approval if you intend to access the facilities of schools (e.g. you may intend to access the school playing field for a sporting event, operate a market or occupying existing rooms at a school on a non-exclusive basis to conduct out of hours school care). You will also need to contact the school directly to discuss possible use of their facilities.

Use of facilities may be granted through:

  • lease
  • licence
  • other agreement (including a joint use licence agreement).
Please be aware that schools facilities will only be made available for commercial purposes where there is an absence of existing private providers offering an appropriate standard of facilities within the community. Contact the school you intend to engage with to discuss possible arrangements.
