Permit to Import Live Fish or Marine Vegetation - New South Wales

Service summary

You will need this permit if you intend to import a prohibited species of live fish or marine vegetation. These are species which have been identified as potentially posing a significant threat to native wildlife, ecosystems, human health or the State's aquaculture industries. Examples include snake catfish, marron and pacific oyster.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • comply with all application requests
  • pay the required fees.

Please note that if a significant impact on the environment is expected then applicants may have to lodge a Species Impact Statement (SIS). This will need to be lodged before the application is processed.
