Service summary

You will require this Approval if you intend to direct, produce or conduct any filming.

Filming is the recording of images (whether on film, video tape, electronically or by other means) for exhibition, broadcast (such as by cinema, television, the internet or by other means) or sale.

This Approval is also needed if you intend to conduct any still photography.

Eligibility requirements

To gain approval to film you need to provide proof of your acceptance of the filming guidelines.

This Approval may require details such as the location, type of activity, parking, road closures, access, traffic control, proof of notification of residents and other interested parties.

When you submit your Approval to Council, you must provide a copy of a relevant public liability insurance certificate of currency.

Not all public areas are under the jurisdiction of the Council. Other authorities may have to be contacted before any filming can take place in these areas. Police or other government departments will also need to be notified of any filming activities.

Depending on the exact nature of your activities you may need other approvals.
