Dust Explosion Management Plan Auditor Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to audit a dust explosion management plan for a coal mine.

Each coal mine is required to have a dust explosion management plan for controlling hazards arising from dust explosions. The plan must be audited at least once a year by a person who holds this licence. The auditor must provide a report to the coal mine on whether or not the system contained in the plan is being followed at the mine, and whether the system is achieving its aims.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a suitable person to hold a licence
  • have appropriate qualifications relating to the auditing of dust explosion management plans
  • ensure your employees have had training in safe working methods.

At a minimum, the appropriate qualification is the RABQSA-OH (accredited) Occupational Health and Safety Management System Auditing course certificate or equivalent.

If you are applying for an application on behalf of a company you must ensure that at least one of your company's management personnel has appropriate qualifications relating to the auditing of dust explosion management plans.
