Sampling and Analysis of Diesel Engine Exhaust Licence - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to undertake sampling and analysis of diesel engine exhaust at a coal mine.

The operator of an underground coal mine must ensure that the exhaust from each diesel engine used in the underground parts of the mine is regularly sampled and analysed by a person who holds this licence. All diesel engines used in the underground parts of the mine must meet limits on the content of their exhaust set by the Agency.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Be a suitable person to hold a licence;
  • Have appropriate qualifications relating to the sampling and analysis of diesel engine exhaust; and
  • Ensure your employees have had training in safe working methods.

If you are applying for an application on behalf of a company you must ensure that at least one of your company's management personnel has appropriate qualifications relating to the sampling and analysis of diesel engine exhaust.
