Offshore Production Licence for Petroleum - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you are an individual or corporation that intends to undertake operations for the recovery of petroleum over a specific piece of land in New South Wales. This licence applies to activities within three nautical miles from the NSW coast.

This licence allows you to:

  • recover petroleum in the licence area
  • explore for petroleum in the licence area
  • carry on such operations and execute such works in the licence area as are necessary for those purposes.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

 

  • provide details of proposed work, including work program, methods and area of exploration, qualification details of yourself and all technical advisers to be employed, estimated costs
  • provide details of available finances to prove sufficient funds to carry out production, including your latest annual report or audited accounts. If finance is provided by another company, you must provide letter of guarantee for finances.
