Registration of a Group Training Organisation - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this registration you intend to become a group training organisation (GTO).

Group training is an employment and training arrangement that enables an organisation to employ apprentices and trainees under an Apprenticeship or Traineeship Training Contract and place them with host employers. As a GTO, you are responsible for undertaking the employer responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentices' and trainees' employment training. You will also manage the additional care and support necessary to achieve the successful completion of the Training Contract.

Please be aware that registration is contingent upon assessment and continued compliance with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations. Registration is not mandatory, however it is required if you are seeking to access Government funding.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • meet all the national standards for a group training organisation
  • pass an audit and inspection of compliance
  • provide a company manual as required by the authority
  • hold a current public liability insurance policy.
