Motorcycle Tourist Vehicle Operator Accreditation - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this accreditation if you intend to provide a pre-booked public tour service using motorcycles. Please note that these types of services must return passengers to the same point that they departed from. This accreditation is aimed at improving public passenger transport services and ensuring that you comply with relevant safety standards.

Please be aware that the following standards will be assessed:

  • Minimum vehicle and equipment standards; and
  • Driver (rider) standards.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this accreditation you must:

  • Hold an appropriate Australian driver's licence for the vehicle to be used;
  • Be at least 20 years of age;
  • Hold a current NSW drivers licence;
  • Be of good repute and in all other respects a fit and proper person to be the driver of a public passenger vehicle;
  • Give written notice of any conviction or pending convictions and charges against you;
  • Have had a medical practitioner complete and keep on file a Patient Questionnaire / Clinical Examination Proforma;
  • Have completed a Health Assessment Form; and
  • Pay the relevant application fees.

You may be required to attend a fitness exam by the Department's Medical Officer at any time.
