Special Casino Employee's Licence - New South Wales

Service summary

You may require this licence if you intend to work at a casino in New South Wales (NSW). If you intend to work in a managerial capacity or will be authorised to make decisions involving the exercise of discretion that regulate operations in the casino you will require this licence. You will also require this licence if you are employment or working in a casino in any capacity relating to any of the following activities:

  • the conduct of gaming
  • the movement of money or chips about the casino
  • the exchange of money or chips to patrons in the casino
  • the counting of money or chips in the casino
  • the operation, maintenance, construction or repair of gaming equipment
  • the supervision of any of the above activities
  • casino security
  • any other prescribed activity relating to operations in the casino.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • have an offer for employment from the casino
  • hold a certificate of competency for the functions that you intend to exercise
  • be 18 years of age or older
  • supply any documentation that may be requested by the Authority
  • have the information supplied verified by statutory declaration
  • not be in a class considered ineligible for the licence
  • allow your photograph and fingerprints to be taken, if required
  • pay the required fee.
