An armourers licence is required by persons intending to possess, use, repair, manufacture, modify, service and store specific categories of firearms.
There are two categories of this licence:
Grade 1 allows the holder to carry out all types of repairs;
Grade 2 is restricted to mainly general maintenance.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
Application will need to provide a written detailed submission and attach supporting documents in order to substantiate the issue of this type of licence.
Written submission must include the following details:
- Reasons for requiring this type of licence
- Letters of reference
- Tools of trade
- Safe keeping/security arrangements
$86 (75 Revenue Units)
In 2016/2017 - 1 Revenue Unit is equivalent to $1.15.
