You will need this licence if you wish to slaughter game animals to sell for human consumption. A game animal is an animal harvested in its natural habitat.
All meat produced under this licence can only be sold if it is slaughtered in accordance with the relevant standard. You must carry a copy of your licence at all times when conducting operations under the licence and are obligated to produce the licence to an inspector when asked.
You can apply for this licence as an individual or a company. If you are applying as a company or do not intend to carry out day to day management of operations yourself, you must nominate a manager.
