Minibus Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a minibus for hire or reward. A minibus is a vehicle fitted, equipped or constructed and approved to carry 9 to 15 passengers.

Minibus operators must:

  • have an approved security camera system fitted to their bus
  • comply with the minibus in-service maintenance standards
  • ensure that their minibus is not older than nine years
  • display the schedule of fares charged by distance in the minibus.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold an NT driver licence with 'H' endorsement
  • hold Commercial Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation
  • have been endorsed by a minibus network or operate where there is not a network
  • be the holder of a current drive commercial vehicles ID card with minibus endorsed against the ID card.
