Domestic/Export Processing Licence - Northern Territory

Service summary

This licence is required by persons intending to operate a domestic or export processing premise eg boning room, smallgoods manufacturing, that is not part of a retail butcher's shop, eg wholesaler, abattoir. If you are granted an export processing licence, you can operate a domestic processing premise but not vice versa.

Meat from the following species can be processed: cattle, buffalo, camels, donkeys, mules, hinnies, pigs, horses, goats, deer, sheep, crocodiles, domestic fowl, etc.

The processing of meat for the export market shall be in accordance with the Commonwealth Export Control Act 1982, supervised by the Department of Agriculture, Food. Export establishment with Department of Agriculture, Food is a prerequisite for exporters. Persons intending to export should contact the agency.
