A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Definition of terms


a stallion, mare, gelding, colt, filly, yearling, foal or pony which is registered under the Rules of Racing and used for, or in connection with, the business or sport of thoroughbred racing or trotting.


any building or structure used or capable of being used for the stabling or keeping of a horse or racehorse and includes any shed, loose box, or stall, used or capable of being used for the keeping, stabling, feeding, watering, grooming, shoeing or veterinary treatment of a horse of racehorse. The term includes a roofed yard.

Eligibility requirements

  • requirements for waste disposal
  • cleaning requirements
