Why the Support is Provided?

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Community Education Unit provides various first aid training courses, relevant to realistic industry, workplace and community needs in Queensland.

The QAS has innovative and effective first aid community education programs that are complemented by contemporary resources, which assist the community to prevent injury and prepare Queenslanders to respond effectively in an emergency.

What Support is Provided?

The Queensland Ambulance Service through its Community Education Unit provides various levels of first aid training. Public first aid courses are conducted in a range of locations. Private customised courses for companies are also available. QAS offers both nationally accredited and non-accredited training.

Important Information:

The Queensland Ambulance Service is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 5285), providing credible training that meets national standards. The Statements of Attainment are accepted by other registered training organisations in Australia.

Eligibility requirements

A level of physical ability is required to complete nationally accredited first aid training, including the ability to perform 2 minutes of CPR (breaths and compressions) on an adult training mannequin on the floor. Other eligibility criteria may also apply, including but not limited to the requirements to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Public course pricing is available on the web or 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Corporate clients fees are established by quote to allow customised service.
