You need this licence to work in a Queensland casino as a:

  • dealer
  • cashier
  • security officer
  • maintenance worker
  • administration officer.

Note: If you are being employed as a manager or supervisor of casino staff you will require a casino key employee licence.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Exemptions

You do not need this licence if you are working in a casino as:

  • bar staff
  • waiter/waitress
  • building maintenance worker
  • entertainer
  • cleaner.

Eligibility requirements

You must be 18 years or older.


Must Have

You must have a letter from the casino operator confirming your employment.

Duration

This licence remains in effect until cancelled, surrendered, expired (if not used for 12 months) or death.

Application

The casino that is employing you will submit a completed Form 9: Application for a casino employee licence to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (Note: This form will be part of your application package).

Your employer will also submit the following documents to OLGR with your application:

  • identification documents
  • certificate of training experience
  • other documents as requested.

Transfer details

This licence cannot be transferred.


Additional information

You are required to undergo fingerprinting and identification photographs will be taken. Armed service discharge or immigration certificate may also be needed.
